About VanTransit.ca
A fast, free, ad-light way to see where your bus is and when the next train leaves, built for people who ride TransLink every day.
What it does
VanTransit shows every TransLink bus in Metro Vancouver on a live map across all 232 routes, live next-bus times at more than 8,900 stops, estimated SkyTrain, SeaBus and West Coast Express positions, next-train times at every station, and TransLink's service alerts as they are issued.
Made for daily use
- Save your stops. They appear on the home page so a morning check is one tap.
- Walking time. Set how long it takes you to reach a stop and VanTransit tells you when to leave.
- Install it. Add VanTransit to your home screen and it opens like an app, full screen, with no store download.
- Nothing to sign up for. Saved stops live only on your device.
Data & accuracy
All transit data comes from TransLink's Open API. Live predictions can be off by a minute or two, especially in heavy traffic or when a bus has just started its trip, and scheduled times are shown when no live data exists for a trip. For official information, including fares and trip planning, visit translink.ca.
Sister sites
VanTransit is part of a small family of independent Canadian transit trackers, including TrackTo.ca for the TTC in Toronto and LethbridgeTransit.com.

Frequently asked questions
Where does VanTransit get its data?
From TransLink's Open API: the GTFS static feed (routes, stops and timetables) and three GTFS-realtime feeds (vehicle positions, trip updates and service alerts). The static feed on this site is version 26SEP_20261106.
How current is the live data?
Bus positions and predictions are refreshed from TransLink every 10 to 20 seconds. Service alerts refresh every minute. Each page shows when its data was last updated.
Why are SkyTrain positions "estimated"?
TransLink does not currently publish live GPS positions for trains or SeaBus. VanTransit draws them where the timetable says they should be and uses TransLink's live alerts for status.
Is VanTransit affiliated with TransLink?
No. VanTransit.ca is an independent project. TransLink, SkyTrain, SeaBus, RapidBus and West Coast Express are trademarks of their respective owners and are used here only to describe the services.
Can I put live arrivals on my own website?
A simple embeddable arrivals widget is planned. Get in touch at hello@vantransit.ca if you would like early access.
